6 years and going strong

So, today (May 4th) is our 6th anniversary. In those 6 years we've lived in Milton, FL, Corpus Christi, Little Rock, Albuquerque, England, and now Japan. We've also visited places as far flung as Ecuador and South Africa. While we (ok, really me) might complain about the military life (it's hard having him away so much), we really have gotten to experience a lot because of the Air Force. I love the life we have and I love Chris more and more each year.
OK, enough sappiness. How about some pictures of our anniversary dinner that we had last night because Chris is, of course, flying tonight? We went to an Italian place called Marino's and it was pretty darn good. It was the first time I had eaten Italian with chopsticks, but when they brought out my risotto they were kind enough to bring a fork. We ordered the fondue because we had heard good things and because one of Chris' life mottoes is "you can never really have too much cheese, can you?". It was ooey gooey good.

Chris ordered parmanara, cheesey pasta dish that they assemble at your table.

As you might have noticed from the video clip, the waitress actually makes the pasta in a huge wheel of parmesan cheese! This wasn't enough for Chris though because he added the leftover fondue to his dish. I tell you, he lucked out with his metabolism!

I ordered the Seafood Risotto in a Pie. I wasn't really sure what that meant, and that part of the menu didn't have pictures, but I was picturing maybe a pot pie or a pastry wrapped around some risotto. I guess it was kind of like a pot pie, but it was as big as my head. And you all know I've got a big head!

At the end of the meal we noticed that we might have used more utensils at this meal than we ever had in our lives:

This last picture has nothing to do with our anniversary dinner. This sign was on a car in the parking lot and it made me laugh. Once again, something seems to have been lost in translation.

My kind of pie. I can't believe it was for one person. Was that really pastry on top.

Leftover fondue? Sadly, when I order the fondue at Marino's, there aren't any "leftovers". Yummy!
